Maxxis Shorty

If conditions on the trail are closer to the Somme than the Gobi desert, you need the Maxxis Shorty. With an aggressive mid-height spike design, the Shorty is designed to offer fantastic levels of grip in treacherous conditions while still offering good grip on roots and rocks. Utilising Maxxis’ MaxxTerra 3C compound the Shorty is a solid choice for changeable trail conditions. Downhill riders have been cutting down full spike tyres for years and the Shorty takes this idea and brings with it a tread pattern designed for a specific purpose, to keep you up right on the trail, no matter what the conditions.

Maxxis Technologies (Not Applicable To All Models)

EXO Protection

An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven material is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected.

TR Tubeless Ready

Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. Our TR tires use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tires are the only Maxxis tires approved for use with liquid sealants. Using a liquid sealant in any non-TR Maxxis tire will void the warranty.
