In the early 1960's Howard Hawkins and Art Engstrom owned a small bicycle shop in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. They soon noticed that there were no tools available to repair increasingly complex bicycles of the 1960's so they began creating their own tools.
The first Park Tool product was made in 1963 which was a bike stand that held the bike off the ground allowing convenient access to any part of the bike. Park Tool soon realised this item was unique and useful and as a result had the design patented by the U.S. patent office.
After the success of the bike stand Park Tool expanded to include wheel truing stands, then expanded further into consumer wrenches and gauges. Today Park Tool continue to be one of the largest tool manufacturers in the world making everything from workshop tools through to multitools and even pizza slicers!!
With over 300 products in the range it’s no wonder that Park Tool is the first choice for workshops around the world as well as being the tool of choice for many pro cycling teams. If you want great value cycling tools that are extremely well made then look no further than Park Tool.
