The Commuter model of the Celsius Artic meets the needs of all those who like to travel to places of work and leisure using their bikes and therefore require safety and optimum visibility in all light conditions. This is the reason why the materials used, the colour and the specific reflex inserts are fully into the Be Visible Be Safe program, delivering the winter shoe for excellence in a new high visibility model.
Upgraded from Celsius GTX boots, the Arctic (or Artic, if you go by Northwave's dubious spelling!) version uses even more insulation and lining that rates them down to a crazy -30 or so! Bear in mind that these may well be overkill for the UK where the standard Celsuis are rated to -10. The microclimate created inside the shoe makes you confront the longest trips out without fatiguing or overheating your feet.
The Northwave Celsius Winter Boots feature a Thermic Insulated Construction to provide maximum thermal insulation in the upper part of the collar and the area where the shoe connects with the pedal. The insulating material also completely covers the holes of the sole plate offering better heat protection for the lower part of the foot. As well as offering better protection against the rain, particularly on the upper part of the shoe, the material can also be easily washed after cycling in muddy conditions.
Northwave's Speed Lace System is a fast and functional closing system, for a perfect hold on the foot. Just pull the cord and push the mechanism downwards, automatically locking the lacing in place. It is easy to release simply by pressing on the lever and pulling the mechanism upwards.
The Northwave 'Jaws' sole is carbon reinforced to provide superior rigidity and an exceptionally light weight, whilst the natural rubber outsole and replaceable studs provide maximum grip when using wider caged clipless pedals or whilst walking.
