Shimano 105

The Re-designed 10 speed Shimano 105 rear derailleur takes the basic architecture of the Ultegra and Dura-Ace models and makes it significantly more affordable without sacrificing much performance. The Advanced Wide Link design increases rigidity and shifting performance, which along with the super stiff construction allows fast and accurate changes across the cassette. The super light shift action is complemented by large 11 tooth pulleys which run on high quality bushings to offer reduced noise and extended service life.

The Shimano 105 rear mech is compatible with 8, 9, and 10-speed drivetrains and Shimano shifters with a 2:1 pull ratio.

The 5700 series Shimano 105 is new for 2011 and incorporates many of the benefits that were originally developed for Dura-Ace 7900 series and subsequently integrated into Ultegra 6700 series. The new group is available in 2 different finishes to suit any bike; Sterling Silver for a classic road cosmetic or Lodestar Black for a more contemporary look.

The goal with 105 is to make "pro-level" technology more accessible to part time racers and fitness enthusiasts, and as such the group benefits greatly from trickle down technology (such as the totally re-designed STI levers). The Shimano 105 concept of "Smooth, Round and Natural" is consistently demonstrated in every component, giving its user a sense of satisfaction, pleasure and fulfillment. Overall, the legendary performance and durability of the 105 group is enhanced whilst dropping almost 30g from the prior generation.
