The Campagnolo Record EPS rear derailleur represents the pinnacle of the EPS project and encompasses a series of technologies and innovations that allow optimum shifting speed and guarantees unprecedented multiple-shift precision across all 11 sprockets.

The EPS rear derailleur shares a smilar structure to its mechanical equivalent with a rod/parallelogram/derailleur cage but with the addition of a worm driven screw enabled by an electronic actuator. The parallelogram has been made more rigid and its geometry has been optimised for the demands of electronic operation.

The built-in resolver inside the actuator is capable of reading the movements of the rear derailleur at any time and can optimise its position by communicating with the DTI (Digital Tech Intelligence) unit. The EPS derailleur is also equipped with a play recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimises stability and precision.  This ensures the operation and performance remain constant over time, even after many miles have been covered.

As with the mechanical rear derailleur, the EPS version includes the traditional adjust screws for both travel limits and spring tension allowing for a fast and easy setup.

Campagnolo EPS is a project that believe it or not started 20 years ago, tackled by people with a great vision for the future, a large heart and an incomparable passion for their work and the world of cycling.

All too often the launch of a new and innovative product on the market is not stopped by errors in design or quality issues, but more often by the difficulty in finding technological solutions that satisfy the needs and ideas that emerge from the minds of the engineers in the Campagnolo research and development department.

The history of the Campagnolo electronic drivetrain, now officially known as Campagnolo EPS (Electronic Power Shift), actually covers six distinct stages of design, each of which corresponds to great innovation, great change of direction and great challenges. Most of all though, they each represent a ring in the DNA of the current EPS, making it a product that has a soul, created by people with a soul.

Founded in Vicenza in 1933, Campagnolo S.r.l was founded by Commendatore Tullio Campagnolo. The company soon expanded, focusing on the three fundamental concepts that would also characterise its future – performance, technological innovation, and quality of products and services.

Campagnolo S.r.l. products are created using the most innovative technologies and production processes, with prime-quality materials from the aerospace industry: carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium alloys. And it is precisely in the carbon-fibre sector that Campagnolo, after dominating the aluminium world for decades, has now decided to make a name for itself with applications that were previously deemed unthinkable for the cycling market. It therefore comes as no surprise that the Composites Department, launched in 1998, currently employs one third of Campagnolo’s employees. Products in carbon fibre are constantly being created as a glance at the current collection reveals: cranksets, front and rear derailleurs, integrated controls, headsets, seatposts, bottle cages and high and low-profile wheels all made from carbon fibre.

Besides distinguishing themselves at the top in terms of innovation, quality and performance, Campagnolo products have also become the benchmark for design. This is testified by the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award from the Associazione Design Italiano in recognition of the Veloce groupset, Ergopower integrated controls and Shamal high-profile wheels. Campagnolo S.r.l. is not only a star of the cycling world, but of sport in general, as recognized by the Wall Street Journal which has named it as one of the most prominent sports brands in the world. This reputation has been earned not only through its countless racing successes, but also by virtue of the attention given to quality and to service that sets this company apart from all others.
