The Wilier Gran Turismo uses the traditional Wilier geometry, but blends it with a slightly more forgiving ride achived through careful application of different carbon fibre grades coupled with the seamless monocoque toptube and seatstays to ensure you still feel fresh and ready for a that final sprint to the line or lung busting climb after a long day in the saddle.

Wilier's 'Razor Edge' design introduces squared off tubing profiles to give the bike high levels of torsional stiffness and ensuring it remains responsive to pedalling inputs, whilst also lending a unique appearance that's complemented by the eye catching paint finishes, internal cable routing and cohesive Wilier branded FSA finishing kit.

Wilier have created a bike that is nothing short of revolutionary, the Granturismo satisfies that elusive place between ProTour thoroughbreds like the Cento1 and award-winning value stallion, the Izoard. A tireless search for that magic mix of performance and comfort led to unique tube shapes and lines made possible by the latest composites technologies and monocoque construction processes with the introduction of a 'Razor Edge' design concept to increase torsional stiffness; the Granturismo’s top and down tubes overlap at the head tube to form a single integrated unit, then flow unbroken in squared shapes until they round and flow around the seat tube and down to the bottom bracket. By unifying the top, head and down tubes like this, Wilier have maximized stability for quick acceleration as well as smoothness at high-speeds.

The Granturismo’s strength and stability are due in large part to its carbon composition. Different modulus composites balance strength, stiffness and elasticity so that the bike has something its rider can become one with: its personality. The stability of a bike’s front end is synonymous with confident handling, Wilier has long been known for its precision forks, which make their bikes fast and exhilarating in turns. Like the Cento1 models, the Granturismo fork has been specifically designed to work in harmony with the front end of the frame. The forward offset, or rake, of the fork is implemented at its crown, with a virtually straight leading edge and tapered trailing edge that smooths out bumps while tracking with precision. Since the majority of a rider’s weight is supported by the front end when out of the saddle, the resulting stability inspires confidence when you are climbing hard, sprinting and railing corners.

The Granturismo benefits from the understanding that efficient pedalling via torsional stiffness need not undermine a frame’s ability to dampen, a quality commonly known as vertical compliance. The Smooth Rear Design concept refers to the confluence of the rear stays and drop-outs, which overcome the traditional practices of joining rear triangle tubing at hard, fixed angles and junctures, Enabling riders to finish strong and without pain.

Many of the design constructs that went into the creation of the Cento1 models make the Granturismo a worthy sibling; it benefits from an asymmetric rear triangle, a feature introduces differences in the tubes’ individual carbon layup, dimensions as well as their configuration, all dictated by the contrasting forces applied to each side when a rider pedals at varying intensities in and out of the saddle. The Swingarm rear triangle design is characterized by both continuous rear stays as well as integrated monocoque construction which unify the entire back end and include “suspended” rear drop-outs, there is no gluing or bolt-fastening used to connect tubes following the high compaction monocoque curing process, rather tubing shapes, thickness and directional fiber layups are implemented as part of the mould and manufacturing process for optimal material consistency and load distribution. The Granturismo also boasts internal cable routing for a clean and minimalist look, as well as smooth, precision shifting, whilst guides are fitted to ensure simple cable replacement.
