Description

The new Michelin Power Competition Road tyre is the fastest tyre in the Michelin Power range and provides a 10-Watt power gain compared to its predecessor the Michelin Pro4 Service Course. Michelin says that this equates to over a minute off the time to climb Alpe d’Huez or a weight loss of 1.5kg, 54 seconds on the 2015 time trial world championship course or 2.8m in a 30 second sprint. As well as making the Power Competition tyres faster Michelin has also increased it's puncture resistance by 13% and lateral grip by 35%.

Power Range

The Michelin Power Range replaces the popular Pro4 range and each of the three tyres in the range offers improved puncture protection, extra grip and lower rolling resistance than the tyre each replaces. The Power Range consists of the Michelin Power Competition, which is the fastest in the range and is designed specifically for racing. The Michelin Power Endurance is more of a training tire, with increased puncture resistance, and the Michelin Power All Season is, as the name implies, geared toward riding in the off-season when roads are more likely to be wet and strewn with puncture causing obstacles.

About Michelin

In 1889 two brothers, André and Edouard Michelin, embarked on a great human and industrial odyssey to develop modern transport solutions – the key to freedom and economic development – through ceaseless innovation.

The Michelin tyres saga began in 1891 when Edouard was granted a petent for the first detachable bicycle tyre.Over the ensuing years, Michelin has never stopped technological innovations for bicycles, such as the first flexible-bead clincher in 1978, the first tyre with a high-density carcass in 1983, and the first tyre with a high-performance silica rubber compound in 1995. In 2000, Michelin introduced the first tubeless tyre for mountain bikes, and has been testing tubeless road tyres in competition since 2003. Riding with total confidence in your tyres means that grip and safety must be optimal under any conditions, in extreme weather or at high speeds. It’s why year after year Michelin introduces technological innovations and develops products with ever-higher performance.
