Tough, aggressive and light weight All-Mountain Shimano SLX rear derailleur uses revolutionary features from Deore XT and XTR but comes in at an affordable price point. Using Shimano Shadow technology, the SLX rear mech features a super low profile design and direct cable routing to prevent snagging any trail side hazards. The single tension spring design prevents contact with the chainstay resulting in a silent ride. The alloy and steel construction leads to lower weight without compromising strength and durability. The wide outer link braces the mech body to increase pivot joint rigidity, providing crisp, positive shifts. The strong return spring and two fluorine-coated link pin bushings further aid slick shifting out on the trails. This versatile rear derailleur is Mega9, 8 & 7-speed compatible and features a top normal spring for use with Rapidfire shifters. Available in GS (Medium Cage) or SGS (Long Cage) options. The GS cage should only be used with single and double chainsets but can be used with 34 tooth rear sprockets (total capacity 35 teeth) Average Weight: 254g for GS
