Due to the new technologies (new generation front derailleur, integrated axle, large frame diameter tube...) a modification for the technological evolution of the middle chainrings for the Chinook 104 range has been decided in 2008. You may notice that the new generation middle chainrings Chinook 104 has two pairs of shortened teeth in order to help the chain to go down.

TA only make their chainrings from the best 7075 T6 heat treated aluminium sheet. The teeth are cut in the traditional manner on a lathe which produces a much better and more accurate tooth form than pressing which is used by most chainring manufacturers.

Please note: On outer rings where the ring meets the spider there are two widths available 18mm or 23mm, measure the width of the arm close to the bolt hole

In 1947, George Navet founder of the company, realised the first aluminium chainring intended for the touring cyclists, thus marking a decisive stage in the design of the bicycles.

Changes in the construction of TA Specialities MTB chainrings has greatly improved performance. The teeth are now higher and the deeper groove eliminates chain suck. The alloy thickness has been increased from 3.5 to 4.0mm strengthening the area which is ramped to best effect.

Rings are available to fit practically all modern cranks in a much wider variety of sizes than those supplied by the original manufacturer. So if you want a 50T downhill chainring for your Shimano XT compact drive chainset you order CRE50. Different coloured Shimano pattern rings are available.
