About Scott
Q & A

The CR1 Pro name sums it all up really.  With a spec and a weight that wouldn't look out of place on a pro team, it is a serious race ready machine.  At 7.2kg / 15.86lbs, you'll hardly notice you've got any weight below while hammering up that hill, and the acceleration is mind blowing.  Very competitive in any race, you know the bike will perform to the best of your abilities.

It's lightweight Syncros RP1.5 wheelset is the main component to help you drive that power forwards, and the rest of the Syncros finishing kit performs admirably at a low weight too.  Shimano's Ultegra groupset has been well proven under race conditions all over the world to provide the all-important positive shift when you ask it to and without fail, while the brakes provide powerful stopping to get you braking later and carrying more speed around the corners.

Don't think this bike won't reward you just enjoying the miles out on the road too though, it's SDS frame will provide comfort for as long as you are in the saddle, and it's perfectly happy mile-crunching as well as competition.

The CR1 Pro is available with Standard, Compact and Triple chainsets.

CR1 is Scott's range of carbon bikes with all day comfort built in and combined with lateral stiffness for fast acceleration.  By laying up the carbon fibres in specific directions at each point in each tube, Scott allow the tubes to flex in the direction that absorbs the road vibrations and small bumps but stay stiff and rigid when the power is put down.  This SDS (Shock Damping System) is on the rear end and forks of the CR1 range and will keep you fresher for when your energy is required at the final sprint or climbs.  This is so effective that it has even helped Pro racers in the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix.

The CR1 range is ideal for anyone wanting a bike for long rides out at the weekend and a fast race-day machine too, both of which you'll appreciate it's shock absorption towards the end when you'll have the edge over the tiring competition.

Founded in 1958 by Ed Scott, a talented engineer and competitive skier, the company launched the worlds first tapered aluminium ski pole to universal acclaim, setting a precedent of technical innovation that continues to this day. After moving through motocross the first mountain bike model was launched in 1986, whilst the 1989 Tour De France saw the debut of the aerodynamic handlebar that famously helped Greg Lemond to claim the yellow jersey from the late Laurent Fignon in the legendary final time trial on the cobbles of the Champs-Élysées.
The 1990’s saw Scott establish themselves firmly within the MTB market, with world cup winning forks, the worlds first carbon fibre mountain bike the Endorphin, and the worlds lightest full suspension MTB’s the G-Zero in 98 and Strike in 2000.

Today Scott offers a comprehensive and progressive range of bikes, with all models, from the entry level Aspect or Sportster to the high end Genius LT, Addict and women specific Contessa ranges featuring the most advanced construction techniques, components and materials available. Pioneers of Carbon Fibre in both road and mountain applications; the CR1 and IMP production techniques coupled with exclusive HMF and HMX carbon fibre grades allow for some of the lightest and strongest bikes on the market today, whilst innovative frame design and close links with leading component manufacturers such as DT Swiss ensure that all Scott bikes perform flawlessly at all levels.
