The Sting HPC Pro retains the full carbon frame and Shimano Dyna-Sys drivetrain of the Race version, yet with a few subtle spec changes manages to shave £800 off the price whilst giving little away in performance; It's Cube's 120mm marathon bike and is designed to handle fast paced and competitive cross country riding, yet remain comfortable enough for extended periods and able to handle more aggressive terrain if required; think of it as a mini trail-bike rather than an upscaled XC racer. Cube's twin mold HPC carbon technology is employed for both the mainframe and swingarm gives a complete weight under 25lb, and coupled with the Syntace carbon handlebar and seatpost help to dampen trail chatter and vibration, whilst the welcome addition of a thru axle rear end, press fit bottom bracket and tapered headtube ensure the bike remains stiff and direct under pressure.

Dual Trail Control
Dual Trail Control (DTC) is Cube’s development of a four-pivot suspension system (now in it's 2nd generation) which drives the shock simultaneously from the chainstay and rocker link, suspending it within the rear triangle rather than fixing it to the frame for finer control over the spring rate and suspension characteristics.
The virtual pivot point works to virtually eliminate pedalling feedback through the isolated rear triangle and provide a stable platform for optimal power transmission, whilst the positioning of the pivots also helps to minimize brake jack and keep the suspension active whilst on the anchors.

The design is utilised for 3 models in the Cube range; the 120mm Sting, 140mm Stereo and 160mm Fritzz, all sharing the same basic design with up-scaled components and linkages depending on the application, giving you the benefits of DTC regardless of whether you're a cross-country, trail or all-mountain rider.
All versions feature a custom tuned Fox Float RP32 shock with boost valve for a totally linier response and the ability to firm things up, with the adjustable propedal platform allowing you to firm things up when climbing or fully open up the shock for a more supple ride when descending. Cube have specified Syntace's X12 axle standard (142 x 12mm) and use their '3D Box' technology for all bikes equipped with DTC,  deliver an incredibly stiff rear triangle that does not suffer from torsional twisting for a communicative and sure-footed feel, whilst a custom mudguard is available to protect the shock from mud being thrown from the rear wheel (particularly useful in the UK).

HPC Super
Models bearing the Super HPC logo are part of Cube's flagship carbon fibre range, built upon many years of experience, they are refined and optimised to push limits of what is feasible using the highest quality carbon fibre and latest production techniques.
Twin mold technology is employed to prevent excess material adhering to the frameset during the baking process during production. Smoothing out the internal tube structure like this uses less resin and gives a higher strength to weight ratio.

X12 Through Axle
This innovative system utilises a cone to form a completely play-free connection, meaning it's only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The Syntace 142 x 12mm standard offers; quick and simple changing of the wheel, a stabilised position of the brake disc, a higher stiffness of the rear drive train and a lighter weight compared to a conventional thru axle.

3D Box
To cope with bending and torsional forces in the bottom bracket area Cube have developed a 3D-box design for the four-pivot Dual Trail Control suspension platform. Placed between the chainstay's, it supports the bottom bracket for improved lateral stiffness, response and power transfer, whilst also providing the perfect point on which to attach the front derailleur and shock.

HAL (Hollow Axle Link)
Cube have develped HAL to work in conjunction with their Dual Trail Control platform; The hollow axle by which the suspension linkage pivots around is exceptionally rigid to optimise energy transfer from the rear triangle into the shock. The hollow construction reduces weight significantly when compared to a standard pivot, and allows the use of larger diameter bearing races for improved longevity.
