Built around Cube's well proven FSP 4 bar linkage suspension design, the 130 sits in the middle of the AMS range. Offering a shade over 5" of rear wheel travel; it blends the characterisitics of a trail and cross country bike together, and with adjustable length forks remains adaptable and ideal for UK riding conditions. Cube worked closely with Fox to produce a custom version of the 32 TALAS RLC fork, offering 130mm of travel in a middle setting to perfectly match the rear suspension, alongside 110mm and 150mm modes to adapt the bike for faster climbing or more capable descending at your fingertips. as with the rest of the AMS range, Syntace's X12 (142 x 12mm) rear axle standard provides superior torsional stiffness and perfect rear wheel alignment, whilst the bike also features the internal cable routing to prevent contamination and maintain optimum shifting performance from the Shimano Deore XT Dyna-Sys drivetrain. The AMS 130 SL features a customer set of Formula R1X brakes which cleverly balance value and performance by combining the RX caliper with the lighter R1 lever, whilst adding in-line bite point adjustment ensures every rider can tune brake feel to their liking and semi-floating discs with aluminium carriers to better dissipate heat.

FSP 4-Link
The holy grail of mountain bike suspension is to attain continuously active and fully usable travel where the rear triangle is not affected by pedalling (bob) or braking (jack) forces, whilst there are many ways to achieve this, Cube employ a four pivot chain stay construction they dub FSP. Here, the rear pivot is located between the dropout and the chain stay; ensuring that braking does not have a negative effect on the movement of the rear wheel.

High Performance Aluminium
Cube uses high performance 7005 aluminium (HPA) which is triple butted, hydroformed and heat treated to produce a frame that has a very low density yet high strength. The hydroforming process (using liquids at exceptionally high pressure to shape the tube against a mould) allows the aluminium to be manipulated to exacting tolerences and create a visual appeal without compromising performance.

X12 Through Axle
In this system a cone is used to form a play-free connection, meaning it's only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The Syntace 142 x 12mm standard offers; quick and simple changing of the wheel, a stabilised position of the brake disc, a higher stiffness of the rear drive train and a lighter weight compared to a conventional thru axle.

Cutting Edge Frame Design
The re-designed AMS range (comprising of the 110, 130 and 150) utilise a number of recent innovations to produce a lighter, stiffer and better performing frame; An integral postmount rear brake caliper eliminates the need for an IS adaptor saving 30g, The tapered headtube promotes unparalelled steering precision and allows the use of a stronger oversized bottom bearing pressed directly into the frame, Integral cable routing protects the cables from damage and the elements for longevity whilst also producing a cleaner appearance and finally the Press Fit BB allows for a full width shell to give improved lateral stiffness and power transfer.

About Cube
Cube are a brand that have been experiencing continuous growth since their inception in 1993; with expansion work at their HQ and production facility in Waldershof, Germany having been ongoing constantly for 16 years, with Cube even purchasing their own construction company to reduce the costs associated with a 6 fold increase in size, German efficiency at it's finest.

Attributing their success to a mix of innovation, premium quality materials, state of the art technology and a Teutonic obsession with product testing, Cube take a highly technical approach to building bicycles, with each model being designed and tuned using CAD software before being transferred into aluminium, carbon fibre or titanium for extensive ride testing.
