Want a bike that will bring you your paper in the morning? Look elsewhere. The Genius 710 27.5/650b will do pretty much anything else though, certain to become your new best friend. Getting rave reviews all over the place, the new Genius can be happily at home ripping up the woods, climbing back to the top for more or all day marathon races. The jack of all trades (and master of most) of Scott's range, the Genius 710 is very lightweight for such a hard hitting trail bike, has it's own built-in geometry adjustment to suit you and the terrain and comes with a top spec. The Fox 34 Talas 27.5/650b Factory CTD FIT forks soak up any terrain all day long, Shimano's full XT groupset is in control of the stop and go in it's typical reliable performance expected of this legendary groupset, while the wheels and finishing kit are provided by Syncros, which is just as legendary really. The Rock Shox Reverb Stealth dropper seatpost certainly adds to this all-rounder trail bike's abilities. All-new and completely groundbreaking, the Genius range from Scott has been given a complete rethink over the previous models. The main change is that there are no more small wheels here; 26" wheels have disappeared from the Genius, now leaving 29" (in the 900 range) and 27.5"/650b (in the 700 range). Choose between the better stability and roll-over of the 900 series 29" wheel with 130mm travel or the more agile and aggressive 700 series 27.5" wheel with 150mm travel. Either one will serve you very well as an ideal trail bike, perfectly suited for marathons and stage races. Both wheel sizes cleverly offer the same rider geometry for each respective frame size, so the same low standover can be achieved. Full of technology, the Genius is an IMP all-in-one moulded frame for stiffness and low weight, includes a tapered headtube, oversize BB area, internal cable routing, direct post mount rear brake, new forged mono 'U' link and oversize pivots now shared with all the Scott full suspension range. Interchangeable Dropout System - Super Light (IDS-SL) is a very neat feature that means you can run 142x12mm, 135x12mm or 135x10mm QR rear axles for stiffness and flexibility with wheels. The chainblocker protects the frame from chainsuck by stopping the chain falling off the inner ring (double or triple chainsets) and an optional adaptor means you can run an ISCG chain device with a single or double chainset. Unique to Scott in the trail bike sector, the Genius offers geometry adjustment in the linkage. Just flip around the shock mount and you can adjust the BB height by 6mm and the head angle by 0.4deg for steeper or slacker geometry. Image for illustration only. Bike does not include pedals.
