Scott's super lightweight 29er, the Spark 900 Premium is absolutely ready to race straight from the box. Weighing a superlight 10.5kg / 23.13lbs, and with fast rolling lightweight Syncros 29" wheels, it is the height of technology which equates to race winning performance out on the ride. Don't give the competition a chance to be impressed by this bike, as you'll be well out of their sight as soon as the starting pistol sounds.
Spark is Scott's range for everyday riders as well as for Endurance riders. With more suspension travel than the Scale range, the Spark is still extremely weight conscious. They will soak up the terrain all day long, all the while retaining amazing pedaling efficiency. The new Spark frame has new geometry and improved construction to increase lateral stiffness. The swingarm has received a kinematic overhaul, with larger diameter pivot bolts, new BB construction and tapered head tube. The 29" and the 26" versions are designed to offer the same standover height despite the difference in wheel size.
The Spark offers adjustable geometry with adjustment in the linkage. Simply remove the rear shock mount, flip around the adjuster and the bottom bracket height will be affected by 7mm, also changing the head tube angle by 0.5deg. The Spark is the only XC/Marathon bike on the market to offer this feature.
Unique to Scott, the patented TwinLoc system offers handlebar control to adjust the fork and shock at the same time from one lever. With 3 settings; Lockout, Traction and Descend, each mode adjusts the travel and geometry of the bike to suit the conditions. Lockout does what it claims, Traction offers a lower travel setting for climbing and pedaling, while Descend gives you the full travel of the bike, adjusting the geometry for the descent.
IMP5 is the name Scott give to their carbon frame construction. Meaning that five parts of the frame are produced in one single step; the head tube, top tube, seat tube, down tube and bottom bracket shell are all joined in one step while carefully managing the layers for quality and effective use of material. HMX fibres are used to ensure complete durability, security and longevity.
Fitted with full XTR groupset, the 900 Premium carries over 2 decades of Shimano's top of the range group's heritage. The result is perfect shifting every time, Shadow technology to keep your derailleur safe, super stiff cranks and of course extremely low weight from this 30 speed group.
