Coming in at a fantastic price, the Scale 960 is built upon the same superlight aluminium frame as all the aluminium Scales above it, has Rock Shox XC 32 29 TK forks with remote lockout fitted for smoothing out those trails and a mix of quality Shimano XT and Deore components.  This 29" wheel version would make a great introduction into the world of big wheels, so you can see for yourself how much faster it'll make you, especially with a big wheeled bike this light.

The Syncros XC-49 disc rims on Formula and Shimano hubs roll really well and the rest of the Syncros kit on the Scale 960 is built solid and light, with over 2 decades of experience behind it all.

A bike to take you further on the trails, and further with your progression into mountain biking.

Scott's Scale aluminium range uses the same celebrated geometry as the carbon race winning bikes, so they'll handle great, be stiff where power transfer is concerned and comfortable due to the narrow seat stays absorbing some of the trail vibration.  Of course, one of the main aims for Scott is to keep the weight as low as possible, so their aluminium frames come out as one of the lightest around.  Add to this their great hydroformed looks and you have a winner for every scenario.

Founded in 1958 by Ed Scott, a talented engineer and competitive skier, the company launched the worlds first tapered aluminium ski pole to universal acclaim, setting a precedent of technical innovation that continues to this day. After moving through motocross the first mountain bike model was launched in 1986, whilst the 1989 Tour De France saw the debut of the aerodynamic handlebar that famously helped Greg Lemond to claim the yellow jersey from the late Laurent Fignon in the legendary final time trial on the cobbles of the Champs-Élysées.
The 1990’s saw Scott establish themselves firmly within the MTB market, with world cup winning forks, the worlds first carbon fibre mountain bike the Endorphin, and the worlds lightest full suspension MTB’s the G-Zero in 98 and Strike in 2000.

Today Scott offers a comprehensive and progressive range of bikes, with all models, from the entry level Aspect or Sportster to the high end Genius LT, Addict and women specific Contessa ranges featuring the most advanced construction techniques, components and materials available. Pioneers of Carbon Fibre in both road and mountain applications; the CR1 and IMP production techniques coupled with exclusive HMF and HMX carbon fibre grades allow for some of the lightest and strongest bikes on the market today, whilst innovative frame design and close links with leading component manufacturers such as DT Swiss ensure that all Scott bikes perform flawlessly at all levels.
