The Garmin Edge 500 shares the same advanced GPS based cycle computer functionality as the rest of the Edge range, but has been slimmed down significantly due to the removal of mapping and navigation functionality. Making it ideal for riders who want accurate real time and post ride data whilst maintaining a neat cockpit setup, but already know where they are going. About The Garmin Edge 500: The GPS based real time data displays are highly accurate and fully customisable, allowing the unit to display only what you want. This also means there is no need for an ugly fork mounted speed sensor. The system does not require initial setup or calibration for different bikes, just fix the unit onto the handlebar or stem using the new quarter turn rubber band mount (2x mounting brackets included) and ride. The Edge 500 is fully ANT+ enabled, allowing it to display advanced training data from the (optional) heart rate monitor, cadence sensor or any third party power meter device simultaneously. The course and lap functionality lets you record a route within the unit and race your 'Virtual Partner' (ghost), automatically registering new laps of the course and pausing the timer when stopped (for traffic lights .etc). Whilst Garmin Training Centre software (included) enables post ride evaluation, access to an online community and a calender function to keep you organised and on schedule. Functions: Specifications:
